Welcome to CardEtra. By accessing or using the CardEtra platform, website, or services, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

CardEtra is an AI-assisted collector platform providing collection management tools, indicative valuation ranges, grading opinions, collector analytics, and educational content for football and soccer card collectors. The platform is designed for informational and personal use only.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use CardEtra. Users under 18 should have permission from a parent or guardian.

What CardEtra Is — and Is Not

CardEtra is an AI-assisted collector platform. To be clear about the nature of our service:

CardEtra is not a marketplace or auction platform
CardEtra is not a grading company or grading service
CardEtra is not a broker, dealer, or agent for card transactions
CardEtra is not a financial advisory or investment service
CardEtra does not facilitate transactions between users
CardEtra is not responsible for third-party sales, purchases, trades, grading services, or marketplace activity

Any transactions or external activities you undertake based on CardEtra insights are entirely at your own discretion and risk.

AI-Assisted Insights — Informational Use Only

CardEtra provides AI-assisted collector insights, indicative valuation ranges, grading opinions, and market observations for informational purposes only. These outputs reflect informed perspectives based on available data — they are not guaranteed figures, professional appraisals, or financial advice of any kind.

Nothing displayed on CardEtra should be interpreted as a guarantee of future market performance, resale value, or investment return. Users should independently verify any information before making buying, selling, trading, or grading decisions.

No Guaranteed Accuracy — Market Volatility

The trading card market is dynamic and values can shift significantly. CardEtra's indicative valuation ranges are illustrative only and may not reflect real-world sale prices at any given moment. Factors that can affect card values include:

Player performance, injuries, or career developments
Card rarity and shifts in graded population reports
Collector sentiment and evolving hobby trends
Market liquidity, timing, and comparable sales availability
Broader economic conditions and discretionary spending

For rare or niche cards with limited sales history, comparable data may be scarce and indicative ranges less reliable as a result.

Third-Party Data & External Sources

CardEtra may use third-party data providers to supplement platform features, including market data feeds, population reports, and comparable sales information. We do not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or reliability of third-party data displayed on the platform, and are not responsible for errors or omissions in external sources.

No Warranty

CardEtra is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranty that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from inaccuracies. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CardEtra disclaims all implied warranties, including those of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Evolving Platform Features

CardEtra is an actively developing platform and some features may evolve as the product improves:

Features and AI capabilities are under continuous development and will evolve over time
Platform outputs, design, and functionality may change without prior notice
Certain features may be temporarily unavailable, modified, or removed as the product matures
AI accuracy and coverage will improve as the platform scales and data sets grow

We will communicate significant changes where possible. By using CardEtra, you acknowledge and accept that the platform will continue to improve over time.

User Accounts

You are responsible for providing accurate registration information, maintaining the security of your credentials, and all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately at hello@cardetra.com.

Account Suspension & Termination

CardEtra reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate any account — with or without notice — where a user has:

Violated these Terms in any material way
Used automated bots, scripts, or scraping tools to access or extract platform data
Attempted to reverse engineer, exploit, or manipulate the platform's AI systems or infrastructure
Engaged in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful conduct toward the platform or other users
Repeatedly misused platform features or circumvented usage restrictions

Where termination occurs due to a breach, no refund will be issued for any remaining subscription period. CardEtra may also pursue appropriate legal remedies where warranted.

Subscription & Payment

CardEtra offers both a free tier and a paid monthly subscription.

Free Tier — free accounts have access to basic platform features with limited card uploads and limited AI interactions. CardEtra reserves the right to modify, restrict, or discontinue free tier allowances at any time without notice.

Paid Subscription — paid subscribers receive unlimited card uploads, full AI interaction, and access to all platform features. Fees are charged in advance and recur automatically each month until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on this recurring basis.

Payments are processed securely via our third-party payment provider. CardEtra does not store your full card or bank details. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. We reserve the right to update pricing with at least 30 days' written notice.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain full platform access until that date.

Service Availability & Interruptions

CardEtra aims to provide a reliable and consistent platform experience. However, as an evolving SaaS product, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. The platform may experience downtime due to:

Scheduled maintenance or infrastructure updates
Unexpected technical issues or third-party service disruptions
Improvements, feature deployments, or platform upgrades

CardEtra shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from planned or unplanned service interruptions. Where possible, we will provide advance notice of scheduled maintenance.

Uploaded Content & Ownership

You retain full ownership of all card images and content you upload to CardEtra. CardEtra does not claim any ownership rights over your collection data or uploaded images.

By uploading content, you grant CardEtra a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of delivering platform features and AI-assisted functionality to you. This licence does not extend to any commercial use, redistribution, or sharing of your content with third parties.

Intellectual Property

CardEtra's branding, platform design, software, AI models, and original content are the intellectual property of CardEtra or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercialise any part of the platform without express written permission.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Attempt to reverse engineer, exploit, or extract data from the platform or its AI systems
Use automated bots, scripts, or scraping tools to access or harvest platform data without authorisation
Attempt unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its infrastructure
Upload harmful, illegal, or third-party infringing content
Use the platform for fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive activity
Redistribute or commercialise AI-assisted outputs or platform data without permission
Interfere with platform functionality or degrade the experience of other users

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CardEtra shall not be liable for financial or trading losses, decisions made based on platform insights, grading outcomes, third-party marketplace disputes, inaccuracies in data, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind.

Users are solely responsible for independently verifying card authenticity, condition, grading details, and transaction terms before engaging in any purchase, sale, trade, or grading submission. CardEtra's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the three months prior to any claim.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email or a platform notice. Continued use of CardEtra after updates take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
